Farmers Markets Don't End When Fall Does: Your Guide to Winter Markets in Southeast Michigan
Where to find Michigan growers, fresh food, and local favorites throughout winter 2026–27.
Across Southeast Michigan, some markets stay open all year, while others move indoors or pop up for a handful of winter weekends. You'll find everything from locally raised meat and winter vegetables to fresh bread, honey, eggs, and the kind of small-batch goods that make shopping local a little more interesting.
And you don't have to be someone who shops exclusively from farms to enjoy them. Maybe you want to try buying your eggs locally, pick up something good for dinner, or just find a different way to spend a Saturday morning.
Whatever brings you out, here's where to start.

It's a good opportunity to stock up before the outdoor market season ends.
There's also a Harvest Holiday Market at Packard Proving Grounds on November 1, from noon–4 PM. It's a separate holiday event rather than an extension of the weekly farmers market, so check the vendor lineup if you're specifically hoping to shop from farms.

St. Clair County: Winter Dates Still to Come
While there are plenty of farmers markets across St. Clair County during the regular growing season, we haven't confirmed a dedicated December–April market schedule for the county yet.
That doesn't mean local farms stop selling. Many continue offering meat, eggs, pantry goods, and other farm products directly from their farms or by preorder.
It's also why we're continuing to keep an eye out for smaller winter markets and new announcements.
So, What's Actually at a Farmers Market in Winter?
More than you might think.
Winter market shopping looks a little different than a July market overflowing with tomatoes and flowers, but that's part of learning to eat with the seasons.
Depending on the market and its vendors, you might find:
Stored produce: Apples, potatoes, onions, garlic, winter squash, and root vegetables.
Fresh farm foods: Eggs, locally raised meat, dairy products, and some greenhouse-grown greens.
Pantry favorites: Honey, maple syrup, jams, preserves, flour, and other locally produced staples.
Freshly made goods: Sourdough bread, baked goods, coffee, and small-batch foods.
Availability changes from market to market, and not every vendor attends every week.
You don't need to replace your entire grocery list with local food. Start with something you already buy, see what's available, and go from there.
Keep It Local, Even When It's Cold
Supporting Michigan farms doesn't have to be an all-or-nothing thing.
Sometimes it's picking up a loaf of sourdough instead of grabbing one at the grocery store. Sometimes it's getting your eggs from a local farmer. And sometimes it's wandering through an indoor farmers market on a Saturday morning and discovering something you didn't know was made right down the road.
That's what Field + Flock is here for: making it a little easier to discover what's growing, being raised, and being made in our own communities.
Know a winter farmers market we missed? We'd love to hear about it. Send us the name or tag your favorite market so we can keep connecting more people with the growers and producers in Southeast Michigan.
Market schedules are based on organizer information available as of October 17, 2026. Dates, hours, vendors, and holiday schedules can change, so check each market's official page before heading out.
